Shoplift Gallery - 01
27th / 28th / 29th July 2006
The first shoplift event was held in the summer of 2006. The three day exhibition
was well received and seemed to go without a hitch. Artwork on display included
video installations, digital prints, paintings and a hand sewn tapestry.
Shoplift Gallery - 02
30th November / 1st / 2nd December 2006
The second Shoplift event was a challenge to say the least. On the day of
the exhibition we learnt this ex - antique indian furniture shop had no electricity.
Heat and light are fairly important when hosting a winter art exhibition,
so it was candles and woolies all round. The noise from the hired generator
attracted curious passers who helped to make the event a success.
A steep learning curve but well worth it in the end.
